Kangra Valley: Mountains, Streams, Heritage, and Buddhism

Kangra Valley is home to a rich treasure of nature and history. The entire lush green valley is crisscrossed with gurgling streams that drain the snow-capped Dhauladhar mountains which are like the guarding sentinels of the valley. These streams cut through the golden paddy fields, tea estates, groves, and forests. There are numerous Buddhist monks living a monastic life in this region, many of these monasteries are deep within the forests and are open to visitors. Add to all of this that there are many historical monuments that dot the valley, the most prominent of them all is Kangra Fort.
